The film starts with Chaplin meeting Edna (Edna Purviance) and her parents in a park; the mother is played by Marta Golden and the father by Charles Insley. In this film, Chaplin dresses as a woman to fool Edna's father. It was the third and last time Chaplin played the role of a woman on film.

The Bank - Years: 1915
Released in 1915, it was a departure of the tramp character, as Charlie Chaplin plays a janitor at a bank. Edna Purviance plays the secretary Charlie has a crush on and dreams that she has fallen in love with him. Filmed at the Majestic Studio in Los Angeles. Silent.

Charlie Shanghaied - Years: 1915
A shipowner intends to scuttle his ship on its last voyage to get the insurance money. Charlie, a tramp in love with the owner's daughter, is grabbed by the captain and promises to help him shanghai some seamen. The daughter stows away to follow Charlie. Charlie assists in the galley and attempts to serve food during a gale.

The Pawnshop - Years: 1916
Henry Bergman played the owner and Edna Purviance the owner's daughter. Albert Austin played an alarm clock owner who watches Charlie in dismay as he checks out the clock. This was one of Chaplin's more popular Mutual Films, mainly for the slapstick comedy he was famous for at the time.

The Rink - Years: 1916
The Rink was Charlie Chaplin's 8th film for Mutual Films. It co-starred Edna Purviance, Eric Campbell, Henry Bergman and Albert Austin. It is best known for showcasing Chaplin's roller skating skills.
